Queer Hobby Spaces in St. Louis

MTUG hosts a number of community gatherings every month, from Board Game Nights to Crafternoons to Skill Shares. They also regularly have volunteer opportunities in the Trans Memorial Garden, Alix’s Closet, and monthly food pantry deliveries - another great way to make new friends and connect to an amazing cause.

A new vintage and second-hand shop in Fairview Heights, IL called I Look Bad In This offers how-to classes, craft gatherings, and game gatherings, all in support of the gay agenda.

Cooking and Baking classes with a variety of regional, dietary, and themed focuses, including period queer dinner parties.

Monthly trans poetry slam at Night Owl, above Treehouse on Grand. Night Owl also hosts open mic nights!

BandTogether is a volunteer music organization in the greater St. Louis area, open to performers of all abilities, providing performance opportunities to members of the LGBT+ community in a safe and relaxed setting.

Founded in 1987, St. Louis’ first gay chorus has grown from a few voices to over 650 singers over their 100+ major concerts. Open to all singers who can comfortably sing in the tenor/bass vocal range.

Monthly trivia nights and BYO craft nights held in a queer-owned and LGBTQ+ centered space.

Maybe more of a professional group than a “hobby” group, but creating professional safe spaces where tech workers can authentically connect and collaborate.
